The Personal Development course involves completing the Beyond Bryn Mawr Summer Internship Program.  This includes an extensive online orientation, fieldwork/internship agreement, blog post, mid-point reflection, final paper and PowerPoint presentation.  In addition to these requirements, the course also includes completing readings and 7 out of the 9 questionnaires directly related to the assigned readings for the course by October 6.  The course work is designed for you reflect on your fieldwork/internship experience, think about what you enjoy (or don't enjoy), and there are no "correct" answers.  
 
Completing this registration form means the 0.5 credit/no-credit course, GNST B030, will be added to your fall 2025 schedule.    
 
To enroll in this course you must meet the following criteria: 
You are a Bryn Mawr College student.
  • Plan to do an internship that requires you to work a minimum of 240 hours of full-time of supervised work (8-10 weeks at 30 hours/week) during the summer of 2024. Internships under 240 hours can be considered for credit if they are a minimum of 180 hours over 8-10 weeks. 
  • The internship must take place sometime between the end of the spring semester and before classes begin in the fall.
  • The internship needs to provide a meaningful and educational experience that can contribute to your academic, career, and personal interests.
  • The internship must be supervised by a professional in the organization.
  • If you are an international student engaging in internships in the U.S. you must FIRST obtain Curricular Practical Training Authorization (CPT).  Once you have been issued an I-20 with CPT you are REQUIRED to complete this form to enroll in the Personal Development course.
  • If you previously took the course, you need to have received a passing grade in order to enroll for a second time.
