Projects for Peace Student Application

** Deadline:  Monday, January 20, 2025 by 12 pm EST **

Thank you for your interest in applying for the 2025 Projects for Peace program.  Please complete the application below.  If you have any questions, please contact Ellie Esmond in the Bryn Mawr College Career & Civic Engagement Center, eesmond@brynmawr.edu,  (610) 526-6591.

Your application will not be considered until we receive TWO recommendations in support of your proposed project and a completed pre-approval form from the organizational partner(s) with whom you will be working.

(In the case of a group application, only one representative from the group needs to complete this on-line application.  However, all participants MUST submit a resume and a one-page personal statement below and have TWO letters of recommendation written on their behalf.)

Please attach your resume (1-2 pages)
Application Materials

To be considered for Projects for Peace summer funding, a student (or group of students) must prepare a written statement which describes the project (who, what, where, how) including expected outcomes and prospects for future impact.  This written statement should not exceed two pages.  Applicants must also include a one-page personal statement as well as a one-page project budget.

For information about how to format your budget, please make use of the Projects for Peace Budget Template and Instructions for use of the template found here:

I have verified that the country in which the proposed project will take place is NOT on the U.S. State Department's Travel Warning list  (http://www.travel.state.gov).
(Bryn Mawr will NOT nominate any projects that are planned to take place in a country that is on the travel warning list.)
Recipients of the Projects for Peace grant may not combine this funding with any other fellowship, grant, or funding source.  The Projects for Peace grant is intended to fund a full-time summer project--a project that will require a minimum of 350 - 400 hours of work (35 - 40 hours/week over ~10 weeks).  Students may not have an additional summer internship or job in addition to this funding.

I understand this expectation and agree that if my project is selected for funding through Projects for Peace I will make this project my priority over the summer and I will not accept any additional funding or take on any additional internship or summer job.
Recommendations

TWO recommendations must be submitted for each participant with at least one from a Tri-Co faculty member.  The second letter may be from a faculty member from another institution or another person who can speak to your ability to carry out the project.

Applicants should send recommenders the link to the Projects for Peace webpage on the Bryn Mawr College Career & Civic Engagement Center's website where they can access the link to the online Recommendation Form:  https://www.brynmawr.edu/inside/offices-services/career-civic-engagement-center/funding-opportunities/funding-projects-peace
